The Sheaf Stitch can be worked as a surface embroidery stitch or as a counted stitch, and can be used single as a design element, in rows, or as an engineered (evenly-spaced) or randomly-placed filling stitch.
It's made using three vertical stitches bound together by a horizontal wrapped stitch. The stitch resembles a sheaf of wheat, hence its name.
You can learn to work this, and dozens of other stitches, by visiting the Embroidery Stitch list.
