Directions for Working the Dolphin Patterns:
Fold the fabric into quarters and mark the center point of the base fabric. Center the pattern under the fabric and *trace the embroidery design onto the fabric using the water-soluble fabric marking pen. If you have difficulty seeing the pattern through the fabric, use a light box, or trace the design by holding the fabric and pattern up to a window.
Referring to the color key in Step 1 or using your selection of threads, embroider the design using two or three strands of floss in the needle, depending on the desired thickness of the embroidered lines.
Surface embroidery stitches that are recommended for use in the design include stem stitch as both an outline and filling, detached chain stitch for working the water droplets and the sun's rays and French knots.
