Once the glue has dried where the stick meets the fabric, attach the trim (if desired). In my version of the fish I have made cording using the same colors of floss used for the embroidery.
The trim can be stitched in place by hand using coordinating or invisible nylon thread, or glued in place with a clear-drying fabric glue. Read the label carefully to be sure the glue you have selected will work on fabric, and will not be shiny or visibe when it dries.
If you are finishing the poke as a wand, tie ribbons, textured threads or glittery string around the stick where it meets the fabric. Secure with a bead of glue.
The plant poke or wand is ready to use when the glue has completely dried.
