Decorate your tree with hand embroidered ornaments! You can work this pair of Christmas Ornaments embroidery pattern in basic surface embroidery stitches, in any number of stitch combinations.
The simple, free hand embroidery pattern works up quickly and require very little in the way of embroidery supplies, making this a terrific last-minute or take-along project.
You can finish the projects as ornaments by cutting the finished embroidery design from the fabric one inch from the edges and placing it on apiece of backing fabric, right sides facing. Using a 1/2" seam allowance, stitch around the edges leaving a 1-inch opening along a straigh edge for turning. Clip the curves and turn the ornament right side out, stuff, and stitch the turning opening closed. Add a pretty ribbon or cord for hanging.
Or, finish the design as a box lid, or frame it and hang it on the wall or propped on a holiday table display. The individual ornaments can also be used as gift tags, personalizing the tags by embroidering the recipient's name on the back side of each tag.
This is the second set of ornaments. Additional sets can be found on the Christmas Pattern list.
