The pattern for the Stem Stitch Butterfly is given here full-size as a .jpg file, but can be easily enlarged or reduced using your computer's photo editing software.
Materials Needed for a 7 x 7 Project:
• one skein each of DMC 6-Strand Embroidery Floss, color numbers 3761 light sky blue,
727 very light topaz, 3856 ultra very light mahogany and 210 medium lavender
• one 10x10" piece of evenweave in white or natural
• size 10 embroidery needle
• embroidery scissors
• 8" embroidery hoop
• Water-soluble fabric marking pen
Fold the square of evenweave fabric into quarters and mark the center point of the base fabric. Center the pattern under the fabric and *trace the embroidery design onto the fabric using the water-soluble fabric marking pen.
Referring to the color photo for color placement, embroider the design using 2 strands of floss.
